Sewing Pillows Photo Page

Pages 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5

Alyssa is hand sewing her star pillow closed. Alyssa, being the youngest student, comes from a family of seamstresses.

Katherine and Amber made and designed their snowflake pillows.  They added white fur to the back and sides of the pillow to give a more "wintry" look.

Amie is proud of her star... She even glittered it when it was done to add some more shine.

This very bright pillow was made by little circles of fabric sewing in a circle to represent the flowers, a button sewn in the middle of them and green ribbon used for the stem of the flower.

Remember when making pillows most of the time you will sew them pretty sides together.  It is best to leave an opening in the middle of a seam, not at a corner.  It is much easier to hand sew the opening closed if it is in the middle of a side seam on your pillow.  Many easy sewing patterns for pillows can be found at your local fabric store. Pillows can be made as stated above or by buying pillow forms and making covers for them.

This pillow was made for a friend who is a "Philadelphia Flyer" fan.  It was designed on paper first.  The flyers symbol was made out of felt and appliquéd on the fabric.

This pillow is a giant foot with toe nails.  It is made out of light weight cotton and felt.

We Highly recommend these books on Sewing and Making Pillows to anyone who wants to learn to sew or is just getting back into sewing.  They are an excellent resource to get you on the right track for your sewing skills.
