How to make  an adorable Halloween Pumpkin BABY BIB

For this cute little Halloween Pumpkin Baby Bib you will need some scraps of fabric and felt, double fold bias tape, rick-rack, and a small piece of quilt batting.

First let's make a pattern. Take a plain white piece of computer paper and cut the paper down the middle. Now you should have two pieces of paper that measure 8 1/2" X 5 1/4".  You will only need one of these.

As shown in the photo fold the paper in half and cut a curve at the lower and side edge.

Now open the pattern and cut a curved edge at the top (where the baby's neck will be).

Put "BABY BIB" on your pattern piece so you can use it over and over again.

(This easy to sew bib makes wonderful gifts, and it is also a cute craft and sells quickly at local crafts shows.)

Pin and cut two baby bibs from fabric and one from quilt batting.

Place the quilt batting on the table first and then the two fabric bibs PRETTY SIDES TOGETHER as shown in the photo. Pin in place at the top edge.
Stitch using the pressure foot as your guide as shown in the photo.
Flip the one fabric bib around so that the quilt batting is sandwiched in the middle.

Press in place.

Pin the rick-rack in place up at the neck line.

Cut from black felt a pumpkin face. Pin in place as shown in the photo.  Do not pin near the bottom because you will be adding seam binding there and you do not want the face to get in the way.

Stitch rick-rack and the face in place using a straight stitch and stitching close to the edge of the felt.

Cut a piece of double fold bias tape long enough to go around the bib and around the baby's neck to tie in place.

Find the center of the bib at the bottom and find the center of the double fold bias tape and pin in place. Make sure the double fold bias tape is opened so that you can "sandwich" the bib between the bias tape as shown in the photo.

Pin in place. Stitch close to the edge to hold the bias tape in place.

Your adorable Halloween Pumpkin Baby bib is done!
