Project RUNWAY Camp 2007

Week one of Project RUNWAY camp was with our younger designers. (see below)

Week two of Project RUNWAY camp was with our older and more advance designers.

FIRST CHALLENGE:  "Summer T-shirt Dress & Matching bag"

Each designer was given a colorful short sleeve T-shirt, and a button.  They needed to make a dress and a matching bag using any fabric or supplies we had on hand.

Our Winner: Zoe cut up her t-shirt, making a halter top, and added a gathered bottom from coordinating fabric, and buttons to complete her dress.  Her matching bag was just adorable, lined in the t-shirt fabric, and accented with more buttons.

First thing in the morning some of the designers reading their challenge for the day.

SECOND CHALLENGE:  "Rags to Riches"

Each designer was given an old denim jacket that was bought from Good Will. They could use anything we had on hand including paint to re-do their jacket to be Fashion Forward.

Our Winner: Rachel cut up her jacket to look old and ragged and painted a guitar on the back and record and guitar on the front.  Her new "rock n roll" jacket had sparkles on it and she painted the buttons.

The pressure is on, it's the end of the day and the judges are on their way, but the girls are handling it just fine...

THIRD CHALLENGE:  "Pretty in Pajamas"

Each designer had to design and make a pair of pajamas, (pants or gown) using 2 color coordinating fabrics.  They were encouraged to add a little detail or something that shows what they like. They also had to make a pair of matching slippers.

Christina won 2nd place in the "Pretty in Pajamas" challenge.  Here she is dressed in her prize which was a peasant blouse top and matching hat made by designer Jessica.

FOURTH and FINAL CHALLENGE:  "My 1st Customer"

Each designer picked a name out of a hat and had to design an outfit for that designer.

Our Winner: Rachel designed and made Zoe's outfit.
