When choosing a pattern for sewing garments, keep in mind how difficult
the garment will be to make. Study the illustrations to see if that
style fits your need and your skill level. If you are a beginner you will
want the simplest pattern you can find.
Pattern envelopes
will have valuable information when making a garment like:
-illustrations of
the finished garments, front view and back view
-price
-size charts
-yardage of fabric
required (how much of either 45" or 60")
-fabric suggestions (knit,
stretch only, cotton, wool, etc...)
-a list of notions
you will need (zipper, hem tape, buttons, etc...)
-yardage of lining
and interfacing required
