Making a Fabric Hanging Windsock

What you will need : fabric, thread, needle, ribbon, pipe cleaner (optional)

Note: This project can be done by hand or machine.

Windsocks can be made any size. Cut your fabric into a rectangle about the size you want your windsock. Mine is 10 " x 8",  you could do the same, or make a bigger one 15" x 10 ".  It is up to you.
Next, turn the LONG sides of your fabric 1/2 " to UGLY SIDE of fabric and pin, as shown in the picture.
Next, sew along the edge of the pressure foot down both seams. (bottom and top) as seen in the picture.
Next, to keep your windsock a nice round shape, put a pipe cleaner through the top seam as shown in the picture.  Please note: You do not have to do this step, if you don't have a pipe cleaner around the house.
Now let's add the ribbons.  You can add as many ribbons as you want.  I added 6 to mine.  You can make your ribbons as long as you want.  I made my ribbons 12 inches.  Pin one ribbon at a time to the BOTTOM of your windsock as shown.
Stitch along the seam sewing over your ribbons to hold them in place.
Fold Windsock in half with pretty sides of fabric together and the ribbons at the bottom. Pin as shown in the picture.  Sew down the seam you just pinned. Your windsock should be a circle now.
Cut one more ribbon for your handle.  Pin it to the top of your windsock and stitch in place. Be careful not to sew the top of your windsock circle closed. Pin the other end of the handle to the other side of your windsock and sew.  YOUR WINDSOCK IS COMPLETE
