How to make a Fall
Harvest Fabric Candle Ring
This homespun fabric candle ring adds
autumn color to your harvest decorations. It is fast and easy to make. |
For this project you will need: fabric, elastic, and basic
sewing needs. |
Cut a piece of fabric 20"X5". Pin one long side down to
the ugly side of the fabric 1" as shown in the photo. Straight stitch the
seam leaving enough room for the elastic to go through. You are making a
casing for the elastic. |
Pin the opposite long side down 1/4" and then 1/4"
again. This is going to be your hem. Stitch. |
Cut a piece of elastic 11". Attach a safety pin
to one end of the elastic and push it through the casing. |
As the end of the elastic gets near make sure you pin
it, as shown in the photo, so that the elastic doesn't fall through to the other end.
Sew the elastic where you pinned it as shown in the
photo.
Now push the safety pin all the way through to the other end and
then stitch the elastic at that end also to hold it in place. |
This is what your ring should look like with the
elastic sewn at both ends. |
Pin your two shorter ends PRETTY SIDES together.
Stitch. |
Turn your candle ring pretty side out. Your
harvest candle ring in done.
Please note: This candle ring should only be placed on the glass part of a
candle. Putting it directly on a wax candle can cause a fire.
