How to make an Adorable Little Girls Christmas Purse or Gift Bag

This adorable little bag can be used as a gift bag for someone or as a little girls Christmas purse.

You will need red fabric, white fur, and some type of ribbon for the handle.

Cut one piece of red fabric 7" X 15".  Cut one piece of fur 3" X 15".

Place your red fabric pretty sides together and pin up each side as shown in the photo.

Stitch each side of your bag using the pressure foot as your guide as shown in the photo.

Optional: Zigzag stitch each side seam edge to help prevent unraveling. If you look closely it is shown in the photo.

This step is also optional:

If you want your bag "squared" at the bottom corners, pull them as shown in the photo and mark with chalk a line about 1 inch from the bottom.

Stitch where you marked, this "boxes" our bag as shown in the photo.

Fold the fur in half length ways.  Put the fold at the top of the bag and the two edges of the fur on the pretty side and the ugly side of the bag.

Basically, just fold the fur over top of the bag and pin, making sure the fur is evenly distributed on the pretty side and the ugly side of the top of the bag.

Stitch around the top of the bag near the raw edge of the fur. (not near the folded edge)

Be careful not to stitch your bag closed!!!

Pick a handle you prefer and sew each side of the handle to opposite sides of the bag on the top inside.

Your gift bag, or little girls Christmas purse is done.
