How to make  a "Halloween Silhouette Pillow" OR "Halloween Silhouette Quilt"

Same craft can be made into a pillow or a Mini Decorative Quilt...Your Choice...Shown above as the pillow...Below is the same craft, shown as a Decorative Quilt or Table Topper.

First gather your supplies:

You will need:

- a 9 inch square of orange fabric
- a drawing or clip art of your choice for a silhouette around 6-7"
- some type of Heat Bond or Wonder-Under
- a 7" piece of black fabric
- two 9"X3" fabric strips for the two side borders
- two 13.5"X3" fabric strips for the top and bottom borders
- 13.5"X13.5" fabric for back
- fiberfill - if you are making this project into a pillow
Following the manufactures directions on your Heat Bond paper, cut out a silhouette of your choice and press it in the center of the orange square.
Now it is time to add the border.  Pin the two short borders pretty sides together to the sides of the orange square as shown in the photo.

Stitch 1/4" from the edge.

Press Seams.

Notice the photo, the side borders are pressed out so we can see them.

Pin the long borders for the top and bottom pretty sides together to the pillow top as shown in the photo.

Stitch 1/4" from the edge. Press seams.

Your pillow top / quilt top is done...Wasn't that easy?

Now you have to decide if you want a pillow or a table topper.

If you want a table topper place your backing and top pretty sides together as shown in the photo above and sew all the way around it 1/4" seam.

Trim seams and clip curves.

Take the back of your table topper only...make sure you only have the back, and cut a 3 inch slit.  Turn pretty side out. Poke out corners. Press. Hand stitch the hole closed.

If you want a Halloween pillow, do the same as the directions above, except don't sew up the hole in the back until you have stuffed your pillow with fiberfill!
